Medium Efficiency Filters (ME Filters)
1. Function
Secondary mid-range filtration, filtering medium-sized dust particles to further purify the air; essential as a pre-filter for high-efficiency filters.
2. Filtration Grade
F5, F6, F7, F8 (F7/F8 commonly used in cleanrooms)
3. Main Styles
Bag-type medium efficiency (most common)
4. Material
Ultra-fine synthetic fibre melt-blown filter media
5. Applications
Air handling units in cleanrooms, fresh air systems, upstream of FFUs, supply air ducts in cleanrooms
6. Replacement Cycle
3–6 months
7. Particle Size Range
Intercepts dust particles of 1–5 μm
High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) Filters
Filtration Grades (Industry Standard)
- H13: Most commonly used in Class 100,000/Class 10,000 cleanrooms
- H14: Class 1,000/Class 100 high-cleanliness areas
- U15–U17: Ultra-high-cleanliness sterile workshops
Key Parameters
- Particle Size: 0.3 μm particles
- Filtration Efficiency: ≥99.97%
- Low resistance, high dust-holding capacity, excellent sealing
Common Types
- Non-pleated HEPA: Compact size, high airflow, dedicated for FFUs (best-seller)
- Pleated HEPA: Separated by paper and aluminium foil, durable, for use in air supply plenums
- Wet-sealed HEPA: Best sealing performance, specifically for pharmaceutical sterile workshops
- High-temperature resistant HEPA: For use in drying and high-temperature cleanrooms
Materials
- Filter media: Ultra-fine glass fibre filter paper
- Frame: Aluminium alloy frame, galvanised steel frame, stainless steel frame
- Sealant: High-temperature resistant sealant
Installation Locations
- Top of FFU (Fan Filter Unit)
- Air shower outlet
- Air supply terminal of cleanroom air conditioning
- Ceiling of clean operating theatres and cleanrooms
- Laminar flow hoods, self-cleaning pass-through windows
Service Life and Replacement
- Standard use: Replace every 6–12 months
- Indicators for replacement: Reduced airflow from the equipment, significant increase in pressure differential.
- Do not wash; for single-use only
